Guest Speaker: Professor Wang Zheng
Currently, Professor Wang Zheng serves as the Chair of International Economics and the Head of the Economics Discipline at the University of Dundee in the United Kingdom. He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Nottingham in 2012, and earned his Bachelor’s and Doctorate degrees from Zhejiang University in 2010 and 2015, respectively. His primary research interests include international trade and factor mobility, environmental economics, institutional economics, and socioeconomic policy evaluation.
Professor Wang has led or participated in projects funded by various organizations, including the UK Academy of Social Sciences, the UK Higher Education Innovation Fund, the German Thyssen Foundation, and the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He serves as a senior reviewer for the UK Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and is an editorial board member for the journal Humanities & Social Sciences Communications under Nature. His research has been published in prestigious international and domestic journals, including the Journal of International Economics, Journal of Development Economics, European Economic Review, Journal of Comparative Economics, Environmental and Resource Economics, Review of World Economics, Economics Letters, Economic Research, Xinhua Digest, Journal of Economics (Quarterly), and Financial Research. His academic viewpoints have been featured in renowned international media outlets such as Nature, The Economist, The Financial Times, and BBC. Due to his remarkable achievements, he has received accolades from the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League and the Publicity Department of Zhejiang Province.
