摘要:Relaxation oscillations occur in slow-fast planar dynamical systems. These oscillations typically exhibit a “relaxed” behavior characterized by alternating processes on different time scales, namely, a long relaxation period during which the solutions approach a branch of the nullcline of fast variable, say x, followed by a short impulsive period in which the solutions jump to a different branch of the nullcline. So relaxation limit cycles approach a singular closed orbit formed by horizontal line segments and the arcs on the different branches of the nullcline of the fast variable x.
Relaxation oscillations are well studied and understood for the famous Van del Pol equation that arises in the study of nonlinear electrical circuits. In this talk, we discuss two new types of relaxation oscillations in predator-prey systems. The talk is based on joint works with Susmita Sadhu and Yingfei Yi.
主講人簡介:
艾尚兵,美國阿拉巴馬大學教授、博士生導師,分別于1984、1987年在山東大學獲得數(shù)學系本科、碩士學位,1987-1993年留山東大學工作;1993-1997年在匹茲堡大學理學院任研究生助理;1998-2000年在匹茲堡大學理學院任助教;1999年在匹英堡大學獲得博士學位;2000-2002年在佐治亞理工學院動力系統(tǒng)與非線性研究中心做博士后;2002年在阿拉巴馬亨茨維爾大學任助教;2008年任教授。艾尚兵教授是微分方程、動力學系統(tǒng)及其應(yīng)用等領(lǐng)域的國際知名專家。主要從事微分方程,動力系統(tǒng),泛函微分方程,時滯差分方程問題的研究。在SIAMJ.Appl.Math,SIAM.JMath. Anal, J. Differential Equations, Trans. Amer. Math. Soc., Proc. Roy. Soc. Edinburgh Sect. ANonlinearity,J.Math,Biol,J, Dynam.Differential Equations等國際知名期刊上發(fā)表論文40余篇。
